A Small Rescue With A Big Second Chance

We are a small not-for-profit, foster-based rescue. We help dogs and cats who need safety, patient rehabilitation and carefully matched homes.

Rescue, rehabilitate and rehome
How we began

Started In 2015 By Kristy Williamson

Broken Halo Rescue was started by Kristy Williamson in November 2015. Kristy’s love for dogs has been a main focus of her life since childhood, after visiting a rescue in South Africa where she grew up.

The rescue is still small on purpose. A volunteer team works to help animals who are vulnerable, unwanted, neglected or in need of urgent support, then stay in touch and offer rescue back-up for life where it is needed.

What we do

Rescue. Rehabilitate. Rehome.

Our aim is to find foster homes and forever homes for animals in need, with the right match rather than the fastest one.

Rescue

We help animals who are vulnerable, unwanted, neglected or in need of urgent support, including dogs and cats.

Rehabilitate

With time, veterinary care, patience and love, we help animals recover physically and emotionally before they move on.

Rehome

Animals are assessed and carefully matched with the right families so they can move forward into safe, happy homes.

Foster-based, across the UK

We do not have a dedicated rehoming centre for visitors to attend. Animals live with volunteer foster families in different locations. In emergencies, when no foster space is available, they may stay in trusted kennels for the shortest time possible.

How you can help

There Is A Place For You In Their Second Chance

Whether you adopt, foster, donate or share our animals, you become part of the work that keeps this small rescue going.

Adopt

Look at the animals currently looking for homes, then apply if you can offer a long-term match. You must be at least 21 to apply.

Foster

Foster homes are how most of our animals wait for adoption. If you can offer a safe space, even for a short time, it can change everything.

Donate

Donations pay for vet care, food, bedding, transport and kennel fees. Even a small amount helps the next animal reach safety.
